Pete Waterman’s World Record Model Railway Exhibition
Pete Waterman’s world record breaking portable model railway is coming to the Vale of Rheidol Railway this autumn!
About Vale of Rheidol Railway
Welcome to the Vale of Rheidol Railway, an iconic narrow gauge railway established in 1897, which first opened to the public on December 22, 1902. Originally designed to stimulate the local economy and support lead mines in the area, it has transformed over the years to become a beloved tourist attraction, showcasing stunning terrains impossible for standard gauge construction. After enduring various ownership changes and the challenges of the World Wars, the railway is now a charitable trust dedicated to the restoration and improvement of its historic locomotives, carriages, and tracks. Experience the rich history and breathtaking views from our remarkable trains from Aberystwyth.

We visited the Vale of Rheidol railway museum today and I was absolutely amazed how good it is. Several engines on display, with full history and specifications. The building are stunning, the staff are friendly and helpful and the toilets are immaculate and furnished in period. I would recommend this to anyone interested in Welsh narrow gauge railways, you won't be disappointed.

Visited the new museum today and it was well worth it, what a stunning place with an eclectic mix of interesting exhibits . Sadly we could fit in a journey on the train as we did last year - the run up to Devils Bridge is breathtaking and so much so in the autumn colours oh well, next time perhaps.
